SPOOKY NATURE WALK

Get in the Halloween spirit with a spooky themed nature walk around Sheppard's Bush Conservation Area.

Learn about the (not so) creepy crawlies, plants, mushrooms, and nocturnal wildlife that are found in our local parks!


Beginning at Sheppard House, we will hike for an hour through 1.75 km of trails within Sheppard’s Bush Conservation Area and learn about moths that play trick or treat with bats, insects that live in our streams, the chilling secrets to where frogs go in the winter, and so many more spooky and fun nature facts! 


This is a free event that is family-friendly and fun for all ages! Feel free to show your love for Halloween by showing up in costume - we also recommend that you bring a flashlight/headlamp for when it gets darker! 


Please meet at Sheppard House at 5:15pm and be ready to walk starting at 5:30pm. For parking, please park in the public parking lot off Mary St designated for Sheppard’s Bush Conservation Area and follow the trail on the south east end to our meeting location.

Terms and Conditions

   

  • Participants agree to release Ontario Streams from all liability, whether direct or indirect, and waive all claims, demands, damages, costs, expenses, actions or causes of actions arising out of or in consequence of any death, injury, loss or damage to my person or property or that of my child or ward, however caused, while attending at or participating in the activities; including but not limited to, breach of the Occupier’s Liability Act
  • Participants agree to further waive and release Ontario Streams from an recourse which I may now or hereafter have resulting from any decision of Ontario Streams.
  • Participants agree to indemnify Ontario Streams from and assume full responsibility for any claims demands, damages, costs, expenses, actions or causes of actions it may incur arising out of or in consequence of any death, injury, loss or damage due to my participation or that of my child’s or ward’s attendance or participation in the activities.  
  • Participants must report all injuries or incidents, no matter how minor, to an Ontario Streams staff member.  
  • Participants must report any allergies or health conditions which may affect them or limit their involvement to an Ontario Streams staff member prior to beginning the event.
  • Participants consent (if unable to provide it or deny it myself) as a participant in the event of injury or illness while under the supervision of Ontario Streams to receive first aid and/or any further medical attention that potentially may be required to the extent determined by, and at the discretion of Ontario Streams staff, emergency medical services, and licensed medical professionals.    
  • Participants acknowledge that by taking part in this event they are representing Ontario Streams and our partners, and agree to behave appropriately.

  • I agree to grant permission for the use of images of myself captured during Ontario Streams activities; these images will be used solely for the purposes of Ontario Streams and their funders/partners promotional material and publications, and I hereby waive any rights of compensation or ownership.
