About the Program


Ontario Streams' Corporate Stewardship Program gives groups the opportunity to engage in team building, learn more about the environment, and improve habitat in and around our streams. This program supports corporate social responsibility by encouraging your staff to donate their time to rewarding community stewardship work while spending time together as a team.


Through the Corporate Stewardship Program, your staff will build on their teamwork, problem solving, and critical-thinking abilities through their involvement in our hands-on and engaging restoration activities such as planting trees or garbage cleanups.

Opportunities Include:

Outreach Events:

  • An Ontario Streams staff member will engage with your team in-person or virtually about the importance of rivers and wetlands in your neighbourhood through interpretive nature walks, water quality monitoring, wildlife identification - and more!


Stewardship Projects - Join us in:

  • Native tree and shrub planting
  • In-stream restoration work
  • Invasive species removal
  • Litter cleanups

Where are your stewardship sites?

All of our project sites are in Peel and York Regions, north of Highway 7.

How far in advance do you book programs?

Generally we are booking events 6-8 weeks in advance. This gives us time to coordinate ordering trees and staffing for your event. Depending on project availability and volunteer demand, we can hit our capacity 8 weeks prior to events so please reach out early!

Will this program be just for my team or also open to the public/other groups?

Our Corporate Stewardship Programs are always booked with just a single group so this would be a private event for just your team.

Can we bring family/friends to the corporate program?

Yes, however most of our corporate groups run these programs to offer a team building experience for their staff. We can accommodate weekend programming if you are interested in inviting friends and family to your program.

Can you provide lunch for my team?

Yes, typically, we order meal boxes from Subway which include a 6" sub, chips, and cookie which comes to $11.20 per person (including tax). Alternatively, we can also look into ordering pizza instead which cuts the cost of lunch to about $5 per person. There is also a $50 administrative fee for organizing lunch.

What happens if it rains for my event?

We will run the event rain or shine (with the exception of thunderstorms), but we can choose a rain date as a back up if needed.
